Through the Eyes of the Inexperienced

Here I present the experiences and thoughts that God has given me. Hopefully as you read these stories, thoughts, and prayers, God will change you, just as he is changing me. I hope this blog can be a blessing to you as I share with you my journey.

Worry Worts and Control Freaks

So I was praying for some of my friends and I realized that there were some major common themes in my prayer. I realized that me and my friends are two things: 1. We are worry worts. We worry about everything. We worry about money, school, relationships, family. We tend to worry about the things we care about. 2 And we are control freaks. We have to be in control of everything. We tend to want to be in control of every area of our life, and when something doesn’t go as planned we freak out.

I have to ask the question: why are we like this? I mean think about who our God is and then look at who we are. We have no right. Our God is the creator of everything. He created the heavens and the earth, the stars and the mountains, the oceans and the trees, he created us. He is the ruler of the universe. He is ultimately in complete control of everything that happens. He is the master planner. And he has created a perfect plan for each and every one of our lives. He knows what he is doing and he knows and wants what is best for us, and he will do whatever it takes to do what is best. We are but a grain of sand, but he cares and loves us anyway. He knows us better then we know ourselves and he still loves us. He knows every thought, every dream, every worry, and every dream. He hears all of our prayers and counts all of our tears. He loves more than we could ever imagine is possible and yet we still doubt Him. He is perfect, and we are sinners. He is in complete control, and we are at his mercy. So why do we think we have the right to doubt Him and tell Him what to do? We who can only see one pixel in this giant picture of life; we try and tell God that his plan for us is wrong, that he doesn’t know what He is doing? Who do we think we are to insult God like that?

I just want to remind you friends that if you are doubting God, doubting his timing, doubting his ways of pulling us closer to Him, doubting his plan for your life, doubting whether denying something you cared about to follow God was the right decision, just remember who God is and what he has done, and thank him for the blessings.

I apologize if I was too harsh or if I offended you. I feel like it is so easy to forget who God is sometimes, I know that I struggle with that all of the time. I just wanted to remind y'all what kind of God we serve and how he deserves to be treated.
